Israel-Palestine: A Mission to Listen
Late May (approximately May 15th-28th) 2017
Applications Currently Closed

Quest: Israel-Palestine will take you behind the headlines of this historic and sacred region to begin to explore the complexity of this land and its people and also begin to discover your own self and humanity more deeply.  With a mission to listen to the diverse, often overlooked, and complex stories emanating from the region, we will meet with Israeli and Palestinian peacemakers, advocates, religious leaders, entrepreneurs, students, and many others as we dive into the diverse narratives of the region.

As a geographic, political, historical, and cultural tour of this complex and beautiful land, Quest: Israel-Palestine will take us all over this divided region: from the stillness of the Sea of Galilee and historic Nazareth in the northeast, through the villages of Nablus and Jenin, to the contested and sacred city of Jerusalem, and to the other side of the infamous “Separation Barrier.” You’ll see awe-inspiring landscapes, historic and sacred landmarks, float in the Dead Sea, sweat on the trail to Masada, haggle with a shopkeeper in Bethlehem, meet and dialogue with inspiring individuals, and come away transformed with the way in which you see yourself and engage with the world.

Quest: Israel-Palestine is a journey that calls you to listen deeply and empathically to stories of a complex land. As you step away from the familiar, you may just find that the process will lead you to discover just as much about yourself as you will learn about this fascinating region. We will engage in daily group dialogues in an effort to process each unique experience and contemplate tough questions about identity, forgiveness, peacemaking, and justice. Ready? Apply today!

"Quest: Israel-Palestine has been my most life-changing and impactful experience. It shaped who I am and who I want to be in so many ways. I saw pain and apprehension that was an inherent part of so many citizens’ everyday lives. It left me on the verge of tears; but I also found myself immersed in the abounding beauty of the people, history, and land of Israel and Palestine that left me ready to cry tears of joy as well."
